What is the Best Style of Partner Dance for Young Adults and Teenagers?

I find that the best dance for young adult couples is country swing dancing. Almost anywhere in America, Canada, Australia and many parts of Europe you can find a Country Western Dancing Bar where you can see people dancing to Country Music. Country Bars tend to have more young people and are larger in general than other dance bars such as salsa bars and ballroom places with different forms of dance. This means that there is a lot of young people who do Country Dancing in general but to be more specific down to a “style” of Country Western Dancing, I would say “Country Swing Dancing” is the best dance for young people in general. All the way from Teens to even into your 60’s etc. can you do this style.

Country Western Dancing has many different Styles of Dance, the most prominent are Country Swing, Two Step, Triple Two Step, Waltz, Polka, West Coast Swing and East Coast Swing, there’s also Cha Cha and a few others but to get to why Country Swing Dancing is more popular with young people because it has all the action and dance moves that you don’t do as much in the other styles of dance, and I say this with the experience of having been to and learned, Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Country Western Dancing.

One of the Dance moves that’s very prominent in Country Swing Dancing is Dips. Dips are done 5 to 10 times more in Country Swing Dancing than all the other styles of dance. This move is one of the hallmark moves in partner dancing in general and that’s why Country Swing Dancing makes it the most prominent move in this form of Dance. Other moves that are unique and popular in this form of dance are: Flips, Aerials, Lifts, Leans, and Drops.

Some of the other benefits with learning this style of dance are that it’s a performance art that’s also done in teams. Groups of guys and girls dress up as cowboys and cowgirls and perform their dances at live shows such as half time shows at Football and Basketball games, they also perform for different sporting events and rodeos and at schools.

There are also competitions that are done either on a professional or amateur level. Country Swing Dance Competitions are usually done in Country Bars and have rewards up as high as $1000 for winning first place. There are also Professional Competitions that are sparse in the United Country Western Dance Counsel(UCWDC) which have some Country Swing Dance Competitions but have lots of the other styles of Country Dances like Two Step and West Coast Swing.

There are many videos of “Country Swing Dancing” on YouTube and the best Country Swing Dancing that I’ve seen is in Texas. In North America Country Swing Dancing is more popular on the Western Side of both USA and Canada while the eastern side has about the same amount of Country Bars there is more line dancing done there. Got to get those guys to learn how to dance, LADIES!

The one thing that I like about Country Swing Dancing is that it’s very very simple to start off with. Instead of having 2 different tempos’ like most dances do, you can dance to the beat like you were slow dancing. Rocking back and forth on each foot to the bass beat of the music and as you progressively get better you start to learn connection and can play with the timing of the dance. It’s very easy for people to learn on the fly in a bar setting without much instruction like you would need with almost every other style of dance and because of that reason it’s the best form of dance to do with anyone you wish to dance with.

There are many other reasons why I think this is the best style of dance for young people, but to be honest it’s really the coolest looking dance on the floor compared to all the others if you were to see groups of individual couples dancing the different styles of dance. Young people want to learn those flips, dips, and all those tricks that you see in Country Swing Dancing that’s not taught so much in the other styles of dance.
