One thing that I’ve noticed is that all the Country Dancing Bars that have a solid business strategy include Country Swing Dancing at their bars. Country Swing Dancing attracts more guys to the bar compared to Line Dancing or Two Step.
One of the key components to a bars profit is to get more men to come to a bar. Women seem to come to the bars statistically more then men. But it’s also well known that men spend more then women on a night out. How does Country Swing Dancing bring more men to the bar you ask? Well I’ll answer it in two parts the first part being why Country Swing attracts men more than Line Dancing, then I’ll answer why it attracts men more than Two Step.
The first thing I want to talk about is the psychological dynamics of doing both styles of dances. Line dancing is not as fun for men because there are many moves that are more feminine in the dance compared to Country Swing Dancing. Line dancing has more butt shaking, wiggling, and shimmy’s where you shake your torso(chest area), and men feel more uncomfortable doing these kinds of moves compared to women. On the other hand in Country Swing there are a lot more masculine moves like, dips, turns, leans, drops, whips, flips, lifts, and all sorts of crazy tricks that makes it look more entertaining and interesting for guys. So when it comes to dancing you are going to see way more guys wanting to do these kinds of moves than shaking their butts, cause it’s in their nature to do that.Now to answer the second half of the question why does Country Swing Dancing do better than Two Step or Waltz or any other style of partner dance. Two Step is a more traditional type of dance and is not taught to young people as much as it was in the 90’s. So even though Two Step is a great style of dance, I love doing it, the thing that’s lacking in it and all the other styles of dance is the excitement and the action going on in the dance. Two Step does not have a lot of dips, turns, leans, drops, whips, aerials, lifts and a lot of tricks that you can do in Country Swing Dancing and so because of that, Two Step is not desired by young people, especially young men. Country Swing Dancers are doing about 5 to 10 times more tricks in their dance than any other style of dance. These tricks are what make the dance so popular among young people.
And so it’s because of the excitement in Country Swing Dancing that men are drawn to the Country Bars more than any other styles of dance.

One of the biggest factors missing at Country Bars that don’t focus on partner dancing, is dancer etiquette. What I’m talking about is the idea that when you go up to a girl to dance with her, proper etiquette means, you should ask her first to dance and if she say’s yes, then you may dance with her. In night clubs throughout the country, dancer etiquette doesn’t exist, and many clubs and country bars too have this struggle to build a good reputation in the community based on how their clientele behaves at their venue. Building that relationship is important to gain good clientele and a good reputation. Country Swing Dancing will bring to your bar dancer etiquette. In Country Swing Dancing asking a girl to dance is the only way you can get a girl to dance with you. And this is the case in Country Dancing in general, unlike nightclub dancing where you grab a girl to grind on her.
