The Best Version of the Fake ID Line Dance
To Learn How to do the Fake ID Line Dance Fast Go Here:
Hey guys I’m sure that if you’ve been a line dance instructor or line dancer in general that you’ve really struggled with learning the Fake ID Line dance if you’ve attempted to learn it at all. I’ve done up a choreographed version that only uses original choreography from the original two guys that did up the dance from the movie Footloose.
The biggest problem that everyone who knows something about Line Dance Choreography is that the original choreographers didn’t finish the song!!! And I would say about 90 percent of all people who watch the popular Fake ID Line Dance video and try to master the line dance end up failing because once they spend all the hours trying to memorize the moves in their dance which is quite difficult, they will likely fail trying to learn it to the whole song because they didn’t break it down enough for people to learn it to the whole song. And other people who have attempted to do the whole song seem to miss certain que’s in the song where you know for sure that the music is not lining up with the dance.
And if you know the moves and parts the Line Dance then you start to notice the problems with most or almost all other choreographed versions because you start feeling like there is something wrong when you are doing the line dance to the song somewhere around 1/2 way to 2/3rd’s the way you start to feel like something is wrong.
Another thing that other choreographers do is start adding their own choreography to the song doing different moves from what the original choreographers do and I just don’t think it really does justice to the line dance or song if you go outside the original choreography especially since it looked so cool in the movie.
So I’m going to explain first my choreographed version of the song and why I think this is the best version out there. And as a note I don’t add moves, I just organize the parts of the Line Dance so that it lands on all the que’s made in the song so that it looks perfect! And then I’m going to explain how to learn it really fast on this page!
To start explaining why I believe this version is the best we need to watch the parts in the original choreographers videos. Now what we noticed when we watched their video that is not explained very well is that the line dance is broken up into 3 parts. There is part A, part B, and part C.
Part A(32 Counts) starts at the beginning of the song where they say “Hey” in the lyrics, but it also starts at the beginning of every verse in the song. That sound is a que in the song. So when Big and Rich sing that particular part which is at the beginning of the verse they either say “Hey” or a “No”. So, those words are the que’s for starting Part A of the line dance in the song.
Part B(16 Counts) of the line dance is the part where they take the first step back on the right foot just after the part where you slap your leg or “bootay!” as they put it. This Part B starts at the beginning of every pre-chorus in the song.
Part C(4 Counts) of the line dance is the part where they walk backwards in the circle really quickly to the buildup part of the song. This happens at the tale end of every pre-chorus just after the part where they sing “You know I gotta get it”…
So if you know all three parts I recommend learning one more part that is a tag in the song and it’s not my choreography it’s just a shortened version of part A. If you know part A then you don’t have to really learn anything new just need to know where to start the shortened version of it. So this will be explained in Part D.
Part D(16 Counts) or the “tag” as I would call it in the dance starts at the part where they hop and do the “out in out” part with their feet. It’s just after the part where they say “you rock it out, 5, 6, 7, hop 8” and then on 1 you start with the “out in out” part and continue from their until you do leg slapping or the slapping of your butt. Part D is done during the bridge of the song. So when you hear the bridge where the music changes just before they sing “Here’s my money, now get out of my way…” that’ where you start Part D.
Now there’s a point I’d like to make about the Chorus of the Song. When you do the Chorus’ of the song you will do Parts A and B back to back in the first two choruses of the song. Once you get to the Bridge it get’s interesting because you end up doing a tag and then the “Build up” part of the song starts meaning you are into Part C and then after Part C you start at Part A again.
Many people who do a different choreographed version of the song continue to repeat Part A about 5 times in a row from the end of the bridge of the song right down to the end of the song which I learned got really boring and made the line dance really dull and it actually felt like you were wishing for the song to end. Maybe that’s why many people don’t care to learn the song because they learn a bad version of the line dance. So that’s another reason why I believe this version is better is because it has the variety in it and not so much repetition.
Another note that was one of the biggest things I learned about the line dance was that many choreographers were ending the song with leg slapping and adding their own stomp at the end of the song. I ended up watching somebody else do the finish with clapping and I could tell when you listened carefully to the music that that’s exactly where the clapping part of the line dance should be is right at the end. So I realized that the ending of the song ends in Part B. And when I realized that, then I really didn’t like the other versions that ended with the stomping part since it wasn’t in the original choreography!
Now the biggest challenge I think was deciphering how to figure out what happened in the melo-chorus since if you start it with Part A then you would have a repetition of 4 Part A’s in a row which gets pretty boring. And you noticed something in that melo-chorus, which was that you could hear where the clapping part would go in that chorus and if you were learning like me you would notice that the Melo-Chorus should have Part B in it. The challenge was how to line up the clapping with the part in the song where you know it should line up. And when we did the counts out for that chorus it was 32 counts that and Part B was only 16 counts. So what we did was said let’s take out Part A in that particular chorus and put in two Part B’s and just see if the clapping parts line up with the music in the song and when we did that it did! So that was another big reason why we liked this version the best.
Lastly we realized one more problem was deciding on which walls we should face. Part C starts at different walls and seems to end at different walls and when you finish at the end of the line dance you want to finish facing the front wall where you started. So we realized to simplify all this all we had to do was make one simple rule. Whenever you do Part C end it facing the front wall and there will be no problems with figuring out how much to turn each time you do. The reason it was such a challenge before was you were always feeling like you were in a rush and had to think really hard about which wall you would be facing next and simplifying it down to facing the front wall just made so much sense.
So those are all the reason why I think this version of “The Fake ID Line Dance” is the best version and I hope you think so too.
